Vienna cultural landmarks undergo significant renovations and updates
Vienna is marking significant milestones for two of its historic sites. The Mozarthaus Vienna, located at Domgasse 5, will launch a new special exhibition titled ‘The Mozarthaus and Its History’ on October 22, 2026. This exhibition commemorates the museum's 20th anniversary and will focus on the historical development of the building, which dates back to 1349 and served as a residence for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart between 1784 and 1787.
Additionally, the Wiener Stadttempel, Austria's largest synagogue, has reopened following a major renovation by KENH Architekten. Completed in collaboration with the Israelite Community of Vienna and the Austrian Heritage Office, the project celebrated the building's 200th anniversary. The restoration included updating building technology, improving fire protection, and enhancing accessibility while preserving the historic interior, such as the blue star-decorated dome.
