Vienna gastronomy expands with new openings and international pop-ups
Vienna's culinary scene is experiencing significant shifts through new openings and international expansions. The traditional Figlmüller family business is launching a six-month pop-up at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Germany. This residency, part of the ‘Lagune x Friends’ format, will feature classic Wiener Schnitzel alongside their new street food concept, ‘Brioche & Brösel’.
In Vienna, several new establishments are emerging to meet evolving dining trends. The Italian-inspired café ‘i Mulini’ has opened in the Josefstadt district, offering breakfast and aperitivo. Additionally, the ‘Das Drittl’ team is taking over the historic Florianihof location, transitioning it from a traditional coffee house to an all-day concept with expanded seating.
Local guides also highlight the city's diverse gastronomic landscape, ranging from the international influences in the Karmeliterviertel to the French-inspired atmosphere of the Servitenviertel. Traditional beer gardens like Schweizerhaus in the Prater remain staples of the city's social culture.
