Vienna Highlights art fair opens at Palais Esterházy

The Vienna Highlights art fair has opened at the Palais Esterházy within the Wiener Renn-Verein in Vienna. The event, organized by Wolfgang Pelz, features a diverse range of works spanning several centuries, including historical objects, paintings, sculptures, furniture, and contemporary art.

Notable exhibits include a carved Madonna from approximately 1515 by Niklaus Weckmann, a 1903 Josef Hoffmann mantel clock, and contemporary pieces such as an aluminum sculpture by Erwin Wurm. The fair includes contributions from various galleries, including Suppan Fine Arts, which is presenting works by Keith Haring and Franz Grabmayr.

At the opening, former head of the Spanish Riding School Elisabeth Gürtler spoke about the connection between fine arts and the tradition of equestrianism, touching upon horse breeding and the history of dressage.
