Vienna hosts 25th anniversary of Tag des Sports at Heldenplatz
The 25th anniversary of the ‘Tag des Sports’ (Day of Sports) will take place this Saturday at Heldenplatz in Vienna. The event features approximately 80 interactive stations where visitors can try various sports, including a 60-meter bungee crane, a mobile ski jump, and a climbing tower.
Numerous Austrian athletes are scheduled to participate, offering autographs and selfies. Notable attendees include Olympic skeleton champion Janine Flock, snowboarders Benjamin Karl and Alessandro Hämmerle, and various members of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) national teams. The Austrian Olympic and Paralympic Committees, along with Ski Austria, will host dedicated autograph sessions throughout the day.
To mark the jubilee, a special sports museum will be established, showcasing historical items such as Olympic medals, torches, and the Bundesliga championship trophy. Prizes valued at over 25,000 euros, including VIP experiences for Formula 1 and tennis events, will be awarded to participants who complete multiple activity stations.
