Vienna launches urban summer oasis at Julius‑Tandler‑Platz

From 30 July to 5 September, the "francis" space on Julius‑Tandler‑Platz in Vienna will host a summer programme called "Sommerfrische". The urban lounge offers open‑air cinema on Friday evenings, after‑work DJ sessions on Thursdays, salsa‑ and bachata‑workshops on Saturdays, free yoga and body‑weight workouts, and a Kids programme. A late‑night shopping event on 20 August features fashion designers, food stalls and live music. Most events are free of charge, with a lounge area providing drinks and snacks.

The initiative aims to turn the protected plaza into a central meeting point for residents, offering a mix of cultural, recreational and culinary experiences throughout the summer.
