Vienna police investigate two violent robberies
Two violent robberies occurred in Vienna within a two-day period. In the Leopoldstadt district, two masked individuals used a pretext to convince a 48-year-old man to open his apartment door. Once inside, the attackers threatened him with a folding knife and stole his mobile phone to prevent him from calling for help. The perpetrators searched the residence and fled with various valuables, including a valuable coin collection. The victim sustained serious injuries to his face and foot and was transported to a hospital after contacting police with a second phone.
In the Favoriten district, a separate incident took place at Helmut-Zilk Park. Four unknown men threatened a 20-year-old individual and demanded money. When the victim refused, the group attacked him by hitting and kicking him. The assailants stole his wallet, mobile phone, and hat before fleeing. The victim suffered a shoulder injury and sought medical attention at a hospital. Police have launched investigations into both incidents, but the suspects remain at large.
