Vienna police solve 15 teenage robbery cases in Döbling and Penzing

Between March and April 2026, Vienna's State Criminal Office investigated a series of 15 robberies concentrated in the districts of Döbling and Penzing. Police identified 14 suspects, most of whom were known repeat offenders. The perpetrators, operating in small groups, targeted minors near schools and stations, demanding cash, clothing or valuables and resorting to blows or kicks when victims resisted.

Eleven of the accused were juveniles aged 14‑17 and three were younger children aged 12‑13. The majority had migration backgrounds, primarily Afghan and Syrian, while three were Austrian citizens. Following a court order, seven of the older juveniles were detained in a correctional facility. Authorities continue to investigate the suspects for possible involvement in other crimes.

The incidents were unrelated to concurrent robberies investigated by German police in Oder‑Spree, which are treated as a separate case.
