Vienna stock market shows mixed performance amid ECB anticipation
The Vienna stock market experienced a cautious start to trading, with the ATX index expected to open slightly lower ahead of the European Central Bank's interest rate decision. While the European market environment was expected to see gains, the Austrian market faced pressure.
Corporate earnings provided mixed signals for major ATX companies. OMV reported a significant 68 percent increase in third-quarter operating profit, reaching approximately 2.1 billion euros, driven by higher oil and gas prices and increased refinery margins. Revenue for the company rose 43 percent year-on-year to nearly 9 billion euros.
Andritz also reported growth in both revenue and profit for the third quarter, although its order intake slightly missed analyst expectations. In individual stock movements, Rosenbauer and AMAG saw gains, while Wolford and AT&S faced downward pressure.
