Viessmann reduces biathlon sponsorship following strategy shift
The heating technology company Viessmann is significantly reducing its long-standing involvement in biathlon due to a change in sponsorship strategy. This shift affects the youth work of the German Ski Association (DSV) and several individual athletes.
German male biathletes are particularly impacted by this decision. Athletes including Philipp Horn and Danilo Riethmüller have publicly confirmed the end of their partnership with the company. Horn expressed gratitude on social media, noting that Viessmann had supported him throughout his entire professional career, including difficult periods.
Other athletes, such as David Zobel, Hanna Kebinger, and Simon Kaiser, are also no longer listed as sponsored on the Viessmann website. However, some German biathletes, including Julia Tannheimer, Philipp Nawrath, Vanessa Voigt, and Janina Hettich-Walz, will continue to receive sponsorship support.
