Vietnam detains three Viet Tan members for terrorism and forgery
Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has initiated a criminal case and detained three individuals identified as members of the Viet Tan organization. The suspects, named Nguyen Duc Thuan, Ho Pham Hiep Huy, and Thai Cong Truong Son, were apprehended on September 18, 2026, while attempting to enter Vietnam illegally from the Cambodian border via the My Quy Tay border gate in Tay Ninh province.
The individuals are facing charges of terrorism and the forgery of seals and documents from agencies or organizations. During the investigation, authorities discovered that the suspects were using fraudulent identification, including fake citizen identity cards and passports from Australia and Norway, to facilitate their entry for the purpose of conducting subversive activities.
