Vietcombank alerts customers to sophisticated SMS phishing scam

Vietcombank has warned that fraudsters are sending SMS messages that appear to come from the bank, claiming account changes, reward expiry or account locks and including links to look‑alike websites such as "vcb-rewards.com." The fake pages request full card details, personal data and CVV codes, enabling criminals to take control of the cards and conduct unauthorized transactions.

The bank stresses it never asks customers to provide security information, card numbers or OTPs via SMS or email, and it does not send unfamiliar links. Customers are urged to verify messages, avoid clicking suspicious links, and immediately block any compromised cards through the VCB Digibank app or by calling the official hotline 1900545413.
