Vietjet increases Galaxy Pay investment to fund Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi

Vietjet has approved an additional investment of 250 billion VND into its wholly-owned subsidiary, Galaxy Pay, bringing the total capital contribution to 300 billion VND. This funding is specifically earmarked to invest in the Starlink satellite internet system to enhance in-flight connectivity for the airline.

This move follows an agreement signed on May 20, 2026, between Vietjet and Starlink Services Vietnam. Starlink, a division of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, received its telecommunications infrastructure license in Vietnam in February 2026. While Vietjet has secured the partnership, the airline has not yet specified which aircraft types will be equipped first, the official launch date, or the pricing structure for passengers.
