Vietnam accelerates education reforms in military and civilian sectors

Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyen Quang Ngoc used the 75th anniversary of the Logistics Academy to demand a comprehensive overhaul of its training programmes. He called for the adoption of artificial intelligence, simulation technology and digital tools to transform the academy into a modern, smart institution that can better support the armed forces and neighbouring Lao and Cambodian militaries.

President and General Secretary To Lam met with education officials to review preparations for the 2026‑2027 school year. He urged a shift from mere administrative management to development‑focused governance, highlighting persistent gaps such as teacher shortages, inadequate facilities and rising costs for students. The leadership stressed the need for enough schools and classrooms in every locality, the conversion of underused public buildings into educational venues, and stronger incentives to attract qualified teachers to disadvantaged regions.
