Vietnam accelerates housing support for veterans' descendants and historical zones

Local authorities in Vietnam are accelerating programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for vulnerable populations.

In Can Tho, officials have completed the construction and repair of 123 homes for the children of resistance fighters affected by chemical toxins. The project spanned 47 communes and wards, utilizing a budget of 9.5 billion VND. To ensure timely completion, approximately 1,500 laborers were mobilized, including 300 personnel from Military Region 9, specifically from the 330th Division, the 29th Signal Brigade, and the 226th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade.

Simultaneously, Thai Nguyen province is fast-tracking housing improvements in the ATK (Safe Zone) areas of Cho Don and Dinh Hoa. These regions, historically significant as revolutionary bases, face ongoing economic challenges. In Nghia Ta commune, 107 households have registered for the program, with several projects already exceeding 70% completion. In Yen Thinh commune, 110 eligible households are being supported through coordinated efforts between local party committees and village officials to address construction needs and material logistics.
