Vietnam adopts new development model and maritime nation resolution

At a national conference, Nguyen Thanh Nghi, head of the Party’s Policy and Strategy Committee, presented two key resolutions. The first, on renewing Vietnam’s development model, sets out goals and solutions for the period to 2030, 2035 and 2045, aiming to raise the country to high‑middle‑income status by 2025 and to modernise governance. The second resolution focuses on building Vietnam into a strong maritime nation, shifting from a narrow marine‑economy focus to comprehensive sea‑land governance. It calls for modern maritime management, integration of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, and links economic development with national defence, security and environmental protection. Both documents outline strategic directions, institutional reforms and mechanisms for monitoring implementation, reflecting the Party’s response to global changes and its long‑term vision for national strength.
