Vietnam advances circular economy through waste management

Vietnam is exploring sustainable industrial practices to manage waste and conserve resources in the aquaculture and manufacturing sectors. In marine farming, experts suggest that using appropriate industrial feed is a key solution for sustainable development. Compared to traditional methods, industrial feed can significantly reduce the volume of waste discharged into the environment, which is critical for protecting ecosystems in enclosed bays where water circulation is limited.

Simultaneously, efforts are underway to transform treated industrial wastewater into a resource through circular economy models. A project led by UNDP Vietnam, in collaboration with partners like the DEEP C Industrial Zone, is researching the reuse of treated water for cooling, irrigation, and production processes. Experts emphasize that establishing technical guidelines and management mechanisms is essential to reduce pressure on water resources and enhance corporate competitiveness in the face of climate change.
