Vietnam advances green economy and international tourism growth

Vietnam is focusing on sustainable economic development through green agriculture and expanded international tourism. In Cô Tô, the local economy is shifting toward sustainable models that integrate production with environmental protection. The fishing industry has modernized, with a fleet of approximately 190 vessels utilizing advanced sonar and light buoy technology. This focus on high-value species and improved preservation methods has allowed the region to harvest over 5,200 tons of seafood so far this year, with high demand for local squid due to specialized catching methods like jigging and trapping.

Simultaneously, Vietnam is targeting the European market to boost international arrivals. Data from the National Authority of Tourism shows that Germany sent nearly 240,000 visitors to Vietnam in the first nine months of 2026, a 16.1% increase compared to the previous year. To capitalize on this growth, Vietnamese tourism enterprises are being encouraged to participate in the ITB Berlin 2027 trade fair to connect with European distributors and airlines.
