Vietnam advances sustainable livestock through circular models and international scientific forums

Vietnam is advancing sustainable livestock models through circular economy initiatives and international scientific collaboration. In Hue, the National Agricultural Extension Center has highlighted organic pig farming models that integrate waste processing into fertilizer production. These models, involving approximately 9,000 pigs, have shown economic efficiency at least 11% higher than traditional methods, with product prices reported 4,000 to 5,000 VND/kg above market rates. Companies like Que Lam Group are facilitating this transition by securing consumption contracts and providing technical guidance to farmers.

On a larger scale, the 21st Asia-Australia Animal Production (AAAP 2026) conference is scheduled to take place in Hanoi from October 28-31, 2026. Organized by the Vietnam Animal Husbandry Association (AHAV), the event focuses on “Sustainable Animal Production” and has already attracted over 1,400 registered delegates, including 600 international participants from 42 countries. The conference serves as a major platform for scientific exchange and the application of new technologies in the regional livestock and food processing sectors.
