Vietnam agricultural sectors adopt digital tools to boost exports

Agricultural regions in Vietnam are increasingly adopting digital transformation and proactive market connection strategies to enhance the value and export potential of local produce.

In Son La province, where over 80% of households are engaged in agriculture, authorities are prioritizing the consumption of agricultural products. Local leadership has taken direct responsibility for managing production, processing, and trade promotion. Efforts include organizing supply-demand connection conferences and utilizing online platforms to link products like mangoes and longans with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and other provinces to expand trade channels.

In Dak Lak province, farmers and cooperatives are shifting from traditional methods to digitalized production. In areas such as Ea Sup, digital systems are used to track the entire production cycle—from sowing to harvesting. This transparency allows for easier compliance with international standards like VietGAP and GlobalGAP. By providing traceable data through digital maps and QR codes, local producers are better positioned to access e-commerce platforms, large distribution chains, and international export partners.
