Vietnam Airlines cargo flight delivers 47 tonnes of aid to quake‑hit Venezuela

On the night of 29 June, Vietnam Airlines operated an Airbus A350 (flight VN68) from Hanoi’s Nội Bài airport without passengers, transporting roughly 46.8 tonnes of humanitarian supplies to Venezuela after a devastating earthquake. After a technical stop at Paris Charles‑de‑Gaulle, the aircraft completed a near‑24‑hour journey to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas.

Earlier that morning, the airline had flown VN66, carrying 124 Vietnamese defence and police personnel, ten service dogs and about 25 tonnes of equipment to support search‑and‑rescue efforts in Venezuela. Both missions involved a crew of 15, including pilots, engineers and cabin staff, and were conducted during a busy summer traffic period, prompting the airline to ask commercial passengers for understanding if schedules were adjusted. Vietnam Airlines highlighted its previous humanitarian deployments, such as aid flights to China in 2020 and evacuation preparations for Ukraine in 2022.
