Vietnam Airlines completes record 16,398‑km humanitarian flight to Venezuela

Vietnam Airlines carried out a humanitarian operation to earthquake‑stricken Venezuela in late June 2026. Two Airbus A350‑900 flights, VN66 and VN68, were dispatched from Hanoi, transporting 124 rescue staff, 10 search‑and‑rescue dogs and over 70 tonnes of emergency supplies, with a technical stop at Paris Charles‑de‑Gaulle.

After the aid missions, an A350‑900 performed a nonstop ferry flight from Caracas back to Hanoi, covering approximately 16,398 km (10,190 nm) in more than 18 hours without refuelling. This distance makes it the second‑longest flight ever recorded for the A350 type, trailing only a 2020 German Air Force ferry flight. The achievement shows the aircraft’s range can exceed its nominal 14,350 km capability when operating under special conditions and highlights Vietnam Airlines’ ability to mobilise rapid overseas disaster‑relief assistance.
