Vietnam Airlines highlights Italy as strategic market for tourism and investment

Vietnam is positioning Italy as a strategic market for both tourism and investment. According to Dang Minh Tung, General Manager of Vietnam Airlines in Italy, more than 150 Italian companies are currently active in Vietnam, spanning sectors such as energy, heavy industry, and advanced technologies. Notable brands mentioned include Ariston and Vespa.

Vietnam has emerged as a major manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia, benefiting from the ‘China+1’ strategy as multinational corporations diversify production. This shift has created significant opportunities for European suppliers of machinery, components, and technology.

Economic data indicates that trade exchange between Italy and Vietnam exceeded 6 billion euros in 2024, with Italian exports to Vietnam growing by approximately 26%. The stock of Italian direct investments in the country has reached 1.128 billion euros, with primary interest in industrial mechanics, energy, infrastructure, and advanced technologies.
