Vietnam Airlines launches direct Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo route

Vietnam Airlines will begin operating a direct service between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo from 16 August. The new route, the airline's first to Sri Lanka, will be flown with Airbus A321 aircraft three times a week—departing Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and returning from Colombo on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Round‑trip fares start at about 7 million VND.

The service aims to shorten travel time and support tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, giving Vietnamese travellers easier access to the island's beaches and tea regions and offering Sri Lankan visitors more direct connections to Vietnam's major cities.
