Vietnam Airlines partners with Laos and Cambodia to boost Indochina tourism
Vietnam Airlines has signed two memoranda of understanding (MOU) with partners in Laos and Cambodia to promote multi-destination tourism across the Indochina region. The agreements were finalized during the Vietnam–Laos and Vietnam–Cambodia business forums on October 8 and 9, 2026, coinciding with an official visit to both nations by a high-level Vietnamese delegation.
The first partnership was established with the Lao Association of Travel Agents (LATA) to focus on tourism programs and travel agency cooperation. The second was signed with the Cambodia Airport Investment Corporation (CAIC) to enhance air connectivity and airport-related collaboration.
The initiative aims to leverage the growing influx of international travelers to Vietnam, which saw nearly 17.7 million visitors in the first nine months of 2026, a 14.5% increase from the previous year. By developing coordinated itineraries, the airline seeks to connect Vietnamese cities and beaches with cultural landmarks such as Luang Prabang in Laos and the Angkor complex in Cambodia, catering specifically to long-haul travelers seeking diverse regional experiences.
