Vietnam Airlines to launch direct Hanoi-Hangzhou flights

Vietnam Airlines will launch a new direct flight route between Hanoi and Hangzhou, China, starting November 15, 2026. The airline plans to operate four round trips per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Airbus A321 aircraft. The flight duration is expected to be approximately three hours.

This expansion connects Vietnam's capital to Hangzhou, a major economic, technological, and tourism hub in eastern China. With this addition, Vietnam Airlines' direct network to China will include seven routes connecting four cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou.

Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, stated that the route is part of the airline's international expansion strategy. He noted that launching the route earlier than expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 demonstrates the airline's determination to expand international connectivity and drive trade, tourism, and economic growth despite market challenges such as fuel price volatility.
