Vietnam and Argentina strengthen economic and technological cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngô Minh Nguyệt met with young experts from the Council on Foreign Relations of Argentina (CARI) in Buenos Aires to discuss Vietnam's development direction and bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Ngô highlighted Vietnam's recent political milestones, including the 14th National Party Congress and the successful election of the 16th National Assembly. Economically, Vietnam aims for a GDP growth rate of at least 10% per year between 2026 and 2030, with the long-term goal of becoming a high-income developed nation by 2045. Growth drivers will focus on science, technology, digital transformation, and infrastructure development.

Regarding bilateral ties, the two nations are nearing the completion of negotiations for a double taxation avoidance agreement, expected to be signed this year. Cooperation has also expanded into high-tech sectors, specifically satellite technology, with the Vietnam Space Center receiving satellite data from the Argentine Space Activities Commission (CONAE). Additionally, telecommunications cooperation continues through the supply of equipment from Viettel to Argentine enterprises.
