Vietnam and Belarus strengthen security cooperation
A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, led by Deputy Minister Pham The Tung, visited Belarus from September 4 to 6 to participate in the second consultative session of the joint working group between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the State Secretariat of the National Security Council of Belarus.
During the session, co-chaired by Deputy Minister Tung and Alesandr Rakhmanov, Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Belarus, both parties discussed global and regional security situations. Key areas of cooperation identified include sharing experiences in ensuring national security, preventing and combating cybercrime, and responding to emergency situations.
The two sides also addressed the need to improve the legal framework to facilitate cooperation in the current international context. Both representatives emphasized that security cooperation is a traditional pillar of the relationship between Vietnam and Belarus, built on strong ties between their respective leadership and nations. They agreed to pursue more substantive and practical cooperation through existing dialogue mechanisms, with an emphasis on applying science and technology.
