Vietnam and Burkina Faso report developments in tourism and economic sovereignty

Vietnam has seen significant improvements in its travel and tourism development, rising seven places to rank 52nd out of 110 economies in the 2026 Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) by the World Economic Forum.

In Burkina Faso, the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) launched on October 2, 2026. The initiative focuses on economic patriotism under the theme ‘Produce Burkinabè, consume Burkinabè’. President Ibrahim Traoré, through Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, emphasized that economic sovereignty requires a complete chain of production, transformation, and consumption. The President highlighted agricultural progress, noting the production of over seven million tonnes of cereals and exceeding one million tonnes of rice to support food self-sufficiency.
