Vietnam and Cambodia deepen parliamentary cooperation in Hanoi

Vietnamese leaders—including President and Party General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man—hosted Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary and her delegation in Hanoi from 27‑29 July 2026. The high‑level talks reaffirmed the strategic importance of Vietnam‑Cambodia‑Laos cooperation, pledged to raise two‑way trade to US$20 billion, and agreed to accelerate border demarcation and marker planting.

Both sides committed to deepen connectivity in transport infrastructure, logistics, telecommunications and the financial sector, and to coordinate joint activities for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027. They also pledged continued support for ASEAN’s central role, regional peace, stability and cooperation in defence and security, and to cooperate closely in multilateral forums.

The meetings underscored the long‑standing friendship between the two parties and governments, and set a framework for regular high‑level exchanges to implement the agreements reached by senior leaders.
