Vietnam and China strengthen diplomatic and people-to-people ties

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations is preparing for its upcoming Congress on September 14, 2026, in Hanoi. The event aims to evaluate the results of the 2019-2026 term and establish directions for the 2026-2031 period.

In a congratulatory letter, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries highlighted the positive momentum of Vietnam-China relations. The letter noted that strategic meetings between General Secretary To Lam and President Xi Jinping in April 2026 helped outline the construction of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future at a higher strategic level.

Both organizations emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties. Efforts continue to promote cooperation across political, economic, cultural, and youth sectors to deepen the friendship between the two nations.
