Vietnam and Denmark expand healthcare and technology cooperation

Vietnam and Denmark are transitioning their bilateral relationship toward practical action in healthcare, science, and innovation following the upgrade of their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This shift was highlighted at the 2026 Vietnam-Denmark Healthcare Cooperation Conference, which focused on smart hospitals, digital medicine, and biomedical innovation.

The conference brought together over 50 Vietnamese delegates, including experts from major institutions such as Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Medical University, and the National Geriatric Hospital. They met with representatives from Aalborg University Hospital and Aalborg University, as well as international organizations including the Wyss Institute at Harvard University, the Karolinska Institute, Novo Nordisk, and Schneider Electric/AVEVA.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Nguyen Le Thanh noted that the new partnership framework provides momentum for expanding cooperation in high-knowledge fields, specifically linking scientific and technological diplomacy to Vietnam's national development needs.
