Vietnam and France partner to establish Railway Technology School

Vietnam and France have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish and develop a Railway Technology School in Hanoi. The agreement was signed in Paris by the Hanoi People's Committee, the French Development Agency (AFD), and the University of Transport Technology (UTT).

The ceremony took place at the Élysée Palace during the official visit of Vietnamese General Secretary and President Tô Lâm to France, witnessed by French President Emmanuel Macron. The school is intended to serve as a specialized center for research and training, focusing on producing engineers and technical experts capable of mastering modern railway technologies.

This initiative supports Vietnam's large-scale infrastructure goals, including the development of a high-speed North-South railway and Hanoi's plan to implement 15 urban railway lines totaling approximately 303.5 km by 2035. The project aims to leverage advanced expertise and technology from French partners, such as the French National Railway Company (SNCF), to meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources in the sector.
