Vietnam and Indonesia expand cooperation in green economy and technology
Vietnam and Indonesia are seeking to expand bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, including electric vehicles, energy transition, the green and digital economies, and high-tech agriculture. Other areas of potential growth include the halal industry, maritime cooperation, and sustainable fishing.
During a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day in Jakarta, Vietnamese Ambassador Ta Van Thong noted that these sectors could help both nations integrate more deeply into regional and global supply chains. He highlighted that bilateral relations have progressed favorably following the elevation of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025.
In addition to economic goals, the two countries are strengthening cooperation in defense, security, and the fight against transnational crime, while also fostering exchanges in education, tourism, and people-to-people connections.
