Vietnam and Kazakhstan boost cultural and tourism cooperation

Vietnam and Kazakhstan are seeking to strengthen cooperation in cultural industries, tourism, and information exchange. During a meeting in Hanoi, Vietnamese Vice Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra met with Kazakhstan's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, to discuss leveraging culture as a source of soft power and a driver for national development.

Both nations highlighted their recent economic trends. Kazakhstan has focused on diversifying its economy away from oil toward industry and services, while Vietnam is prioritizing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The two leaders emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership established in 2025, aiming to expand collaboration in sectors such as healthcare, education, logistics, agriculture, and tourism.

Kazakhstan's leadership noted that Vietnam has become a top destination for Kazakhstani tourists and expressed interest in facilitating more travel business connections between the two countries.
