Vietnam and Laos Strengthen Supreme Court Cooperation with New MoU

Vietnam’s Supreme Court President Nguyen Van Quang and his Laotian counterpart Phayvy Siboualypha signed a new Memorandum of Understanding in Hanoi, replacing the 2018 agreement. The MoU expands cooperation on judicial reform, human‑resource development, digital transformation and the use of technology in court processes. President To Lam emphasized the priority of deepening Vietnam‑Laos ties, noting that stronger judicial links will help combat transnational crime, cyber‑crime, human trafficking and narcotics trafficking along their common border. The agreement also calls for closer coordination among the supreme courts of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia within ASEAN judicial forums.
