Vietnam and Luxembourg sign MoU to boost financial cooperation
Vietnam and Luxembourg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the economic and financial sectors. The agreement focuses on capital markets, green finance, FinTech, investment funds, banking, and insurance.
During meetings in Hanoi, Vietnamese Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan and Luxembourg Minister of Finance Gilles Roth discussed ways to attract international capital to support Vietnam’s ambitious economic goals. Vietnam is targeting double-digit GDP growth in the coming decade and seeks to leverage Luxembourg’s expertise in asset management, green finance, and financial supervision to develop its international financial centers in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
Luxembourg, a leading global financial hub managing over 9 trillion euros in assets, expressed readiness to share its experience in maintaining fiscal discipline and managing public debt. The two sides also explored enhancing connections between the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX) and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE).
