Vietnam and Russia boost science and technology cooperation
Vietnam and Russia are strengthening cooperation in education, science, and technology to support industrial development. This was a central theme of a recent forum organized by the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, the Russian Trade Representation, Rossotrudnichestvo, and the Russian-Vietnamese Technical University Alliance.
Russian Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko emphasized that cooperation in these sectors is a vital component of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. He called for translating high-level agreements into practical projects, specifically through engineer training, university collaboration, and joint scientific research to drive technological initiatives.
Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Tran Trung Tinh, suggested that the partnership should shift from simple exchange toward “co-implementation and co-creation.” This approach focuses on joint training for engineers and technology experts, building research groups, and utilizing research infrastructure to achieve results capable of application, transfer, and commercialization.
