Vietnam and Singapore launch strategic technology connectivity partnership

Vietnam and Singapore have launched the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired by Politburo member Tran Cam Tu and Singaporean Coordinating Minister Chan Chun Sing. The dialogue serves as a high-level mechanism to strengthen ties between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore.

A key outcome of the meeting was the issuance of a Joint Statement on the Vietnam-Singapore Technology Connectivity Strategy. This initiative aims to establish the two nations as leading strategic technology partners in Southeast Asia. The strategy focuses on enhancing technological self-reliance through cooperation in emerging fields, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, quantum technology, the data economy, and advanced manufacturing.

Beyond technology, the two parties emphasized human resource development and leadership training as critical pillars for long-term cooperation. They agreed to promote exchanges between government agencies, businesses, and academic institutions to build a regionally connected innovation ecosystem. This diplomatic engagement follows the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025.
