Tran Cam Tu conducts official visit to Singapore

Tran Cam Tu, a member of the Politburo and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Secretariat, is conducting an official visit to Singapore from August 24 to 25, 2026. The visit, at the invitation of the People's Action Party (PAP), marks the first time a Standing member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat has visited Singapore.

A central component of the visit is the co-chairing of the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the CPV and the PAP. This mechanism was established following the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Singapore in May 2025, which saw the upgrade of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

During the visit, Tran Cam Tu met with several high-ranking Singaporean officials, including Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng and Minister Desmond Lee. The delegation also attended a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

Bilateral cooperation continues to expand across sectors such as digital economy, green transition, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and financial services. Singapore remains a major economic partner for Vietnam, with registered investments exceeding 97 billion USD.
