Vietnam and South Africa promote Strategic Partnership ties

Vietnam National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hồng Diên led a high-level parliamentary delegation to Cape Town, South Africa, for official talks with South African Deputy Speaker Annelie Lotriet. The meeting aimed to implement cooperation following the official upgrade of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in November 2025.

Both leaders emphasized the historical solidarity between their nations, dating back to the struggles against colonialism and apartheid. Annelie Lotriet noted that the visit provides significant momentum for expanding comprehensive cooperation across various sectors through parliamentary channels. The discussions focused on building effective strategic cooperation frameworks for the future.
