Vietnam and United States seek to expand strategic cooperation

Vietnam and the United States are working to expand cooperation in education, vocational training, technology, employment, and investment to strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

During a meeting in Hanoi, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, met with a U.S. House of Representatives delegation led by Tim Walberg, Chairman of the Committee on Education and the Workforce. Nguyen Thi Thanh emphasized Vietnam's desire to deepen bilateral ties based on mutual respect for sovereignty and political institutions.

Vietnam is seeking increased American support in high-tech sectors, specifically calling for tripartite cooperation models involving Vietnamese and American higher education institutions and private enterprises. Key areas of interest include semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and biotechnology. Vietnam expressed readiness to facilitate the establishment of American university branches and training programs to develop a highly qualified workforce.
