Vietnam announces key political appointments and diplomatic meetings

Vietnam has conducted several high-level personnel appointments and diplomatic engagements. Within the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Dam Thi Van Thoa has been appointed as Secretary to the Chairperson of the VFF Central Committee. Thoa, a legal expert and member of an ethnic minority, was recognized for her professional capacity and experience in policy advisory.

The Communist Party Secretariat also implemented personnel changes in two provinces. In Dong Thap, Nguyen Thanh Nhan was transferred to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and was subsequently elected Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee. In Lai Chau, the Secretariat approved Ha Trong Hai and Dao Thi Lan Anh to join the Provincial Party Standing Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

On the diplomatic front, Cao Xuan Thao, Vice Chairman of the VFF, met with a delegation from the Independent Trade Unions of Russia. The meeting aimed to strengthen the social and people-to-people foundations of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, following recent high-level state visits.
