Vietnam Association for the Protection of Performing Artists launches rights exploitation center

The Association for the Protection of Performing Artists (APPA) has officially launched the Vietnam Music Performance Rights Exploitation Center (APPA-CMC) during its third national congress in Hanoi. The new center is tasked with the specialized management, exploitation, and protection of related rights for music performers in Vietnam.

Under the leadership of Director Pham Thi Xuan, the center aims to develop a dedicated platform for the registration and management of artist rights. It is also looking to adopt operational experiences from the Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP) to enhance professionalism and transparency in the digital age.

During the congress, People's Artist Thanh Hoa was re-elected as the President of APPA for the 2026-2031 term. Pham Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Director of the Copyright Office under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized the need for APPA to focus on digital transformation, standardized rights databases, and international cooperation to adapt to changing music markets.
