Vietnam Association of the Elderly holds 7th National Congress

The 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly for the 2026-2031 term has officially convened. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Politburo member Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, alongside 475 delegates representing nearly 17 million elderly members nationwide.

During the opening, Association President Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized the congress's mission to establish goals, orientations, and solutions for the upcoming term. The assembly aims to address major issues assigned by the Party and State, focusing on the motto of “Solidarity-Exemplarity-Breakthrough-Development.”

The congress seeks to shift the perception of the elderly from being merely recipients of care to being active, respected contributors to national development and the protection of the Fatherland.
