Vietnam Attracts Global Retailer and Tech Partner to Expand Private‑Label Supply and Smart Factories

Lulu Group, a multinational retailer operating more than 270 supermarkets across the Gulf, India, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia, is expanding its sourcing of fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, coffee, nuts, spices, seafood, frozen foods, beverages and processed coconut products from Vietnam for its private‑label brands. Mirash Basheer, director of Lulu Group Vietnam, said the company seeks Vietnamese producers with stable capacity, international certifications, competitive pricing and strong quality control to meet growing consumer demand for high‑quality, affordable products in markets such as the GCC and Northern Europe.

Separately, Samsung Electronics Vietnam and the provincial authorities in Bắc Ninh have helped local firms adopt smart‑factory technologies. Companies like Thăng Long Packaging have digitised production management, linking machinery to IoT platforms that provide real‑time data on output, quality, maintenance and scheduling. This shift from manual record‑keeping to integrated digital systems is intended to raise productivity, reduce errors and enhance Vietnam’s participation in global supply chains.
