Vietnam authorities crack down on counterfeit goods and trademark infringement

Authorities in Vietnam have taken action against individuals involved in the production and sale of counterfeit goods. In Hoài Đức, Hanoi, local police and market management teams inspected several businesses, resulting in administrative fines totaling 22 million VND for two households found selling goods that infringed upon intellectual property rights.

In Bắc Ninh province, the Economic Police have initiated criminal proceedings against Nguyen Van Phuoc for violating industrial property rights. During an inspection of his business in Yên Phong, authorities seized over 1,000 items of clothing valued at more than 200 million VND. The seized goods featured counterfeit labels from major international brands, including Lacoste, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Nike, Adidas, Burberry, and Gucci. Phuoc reportedly purchased plain clothing and used specialized machinery to print and attach fake brand labels to sell for profit.
