Vietnam conducts nationwide search and identification of martyr remains
Vietnam is conducting extensive nationwide operations to search for, recover, and identify the remains of war martyrs. In Son La province, authorities successfully recovered two sets of remains in Chieng Khoong commune following local eyewitness reports. Biological samples have been collected for DNA testing to facilitate identification.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the K74 Team has discovered 665 sets of martyr remains at Le Thi Rieng Park. The Ho Chi Minh City Command recently held a meeting with the families of soldiers involved in these search missions to recognize their efforts and the emotional significance of the work.
Other regional efforts include significant campaigns in Phu Tho, where authorities are managing thousands of graves to collect DNA samples, and Hanoi, which has reached milestones in its sampling campaign. These operations involve coordination between local governments, military units, and forensic centers to ensure that fallen soldiers are identified and returned to their families.
