Vietnam auto market sees mass discounts on B‑size SUVs

In June, Vietnamese dealers of Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Hyundai, Kia and several Chinese brands launched deep price cuts on B‑size sport‑utility vehicles to stimulate sales amid strong competition from electric models. Honda’s HR‑V G version received a 70 million VND discount, lowering its price to about 629 million VND, while the L trim got a 37.5 million VND reduction. Toyota’s Yaris Cross and Mitsubishi’s 2026 Xforce saw discounts of roughly 33‑55 million VND, bringing their prices into the 560‑690 million VND range. Subaru’s Crosstrek, Hyundai’s Creta and Kia’s Seltos also offered manufacturer‑backed rebates of up to 258 million VND. Chinese‑origin Omoda & Jaecoo, and Haval provided fuel‑cost subsidies and direct price cuts of 50‑80 million VND. VinFast’s electric VF 6 received a 6 % price reduction plus an extra 2 % online discount and a registration‑fee exemption until 2030, pricing the model at roughly 620‑670 million VND. The promotions boosted sales: VinFast VF 6 leads the B‑size segment with 11,057 units sold YTD, followed by Toyota Yaris Cross with 6,940 units and Mitsubishi Xforce with 5,204 units.
