Vietnam Bishops' Conference issues statement on Old Roman Catholic bishop
The Office of the Secretariat of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam has issued an official announcement regarding Vu Minh Hung, who has been identified as a bishop ordained by the Old Roman Catholic Church.
The Conference clarified two key points: first, the Holy See has confirmed that Pope Leo XIV did not appoint anyone by the name of Vu Minh Hung to the episcopacy. Second, the Old Roman Catholic Church is not in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, meaning the sacraments administered by this group are not recognized by the Catholic Church.
Faithful members are advised to exercise caution and refrain from participating in any liturgical or pastoral activities conducted by Vu Minh Hung.
