Vietnam board members spend over VND 800bn buying PDR and VCI shares

Nguyễn Văn Đạt, chairman of Phát Đạt Real Estate Development JSC (ticker PDR), announced a plan to spend about VND 230 billion to purchase 20 million PDR shares between 31 July and 29 August. The buy‑back would raise his ownership from roughly 27.5 % to 29.5 %, giving him close to 295 million shares.

Tô Hải, a member of the board of VietCap Securities JSC (ticker VCI), will spend around VND 610 billion to acquire more than 31 million VCI shares from 4 August to 3 September. The transaction would lift his stake to over 205 million shares, or about 17.8 % of the company. Both purchases occur as the two stocks have been sliding, with PDR trading near VND 11,500 per share – the lowest level since May 2023 – and VCI falling from about VND 25,000 to VND 19,700 per share.
